Solar Panels
84-88 × 585W panels or an equivalent array using another panel wattage. Quote should state brand, exact model, wattage, technology, serial traceability and product/performance warranty.
Commercial / industrial package designed as a practical planning reference. Review the system specification, expected production, included components, battery options and cost considerations before requesting installer quotations.
A single, easy-to-scan specification covering the important details without repeating the same information in separate blocks.
Commercial / industrial. This size is generally selected where the goal is to offset a meaningful share of daytime electricity use while keeping room for future load growth.
Factory, school, warehouse, farm or large office. Actual simultaneous appliance use depends on inverter output, startup current, battery discharge limits and how much solar power is available at that moment.
System size alone does not determine backup time. Battery capacity controls stored energy, while inverter capacity controls how much load can run at once.
Use this checklist when comparing quotations. A complete quote should identify exact brands, models, quantities and warranties rather than only showing one total price.
84-88 × 585W panels or an equivalent array using another panel wattage. Quote should state brand, exact model, wattage, technology, serial traceability and product/performance warranty.
50kW inverter with the correct AC phase, MPPT voltage/current limits, PV oversizing allowance, monitoring features and warranty. Hybrid systems should also list supported battery communication protocols.
Roof- or ground-specific structure with suitable material thickness, secure fixing, correct tilt, drainage clearance, corrosion protection and wind-load consideration.
Correctly rated DC isolators, breakers/fuses, surge protection, AC breakers, distribution boxes, earthing and labels. Protection should be sized for the actual system, not treated as a generic accessory kit.
UV-resistant DC solar cable, suitable AC cable, genuine compatible connectors, conduit/trunking and proper cable sizing based on current, distance and voltage-drop limits.
Optional, separately sized and quoted for essential loads. If storage is included, the quote should specify chemistry, nominal and usable kWh, continuous current, BMS protocol, cycle warranty and inverter compatibility.
Mechanical installation, cable routing, terminations, testing, inverter configuration, monitoring app setup, commissioning checks, safety labels and handover documentation.
Written equipment warranties, installer workmanship warranty, support contact details and a clear process for inverter, panel or battery warranty claims.
The same 50kW solar array can be configured differently depending on whether your priority is bill reduction, backup power or maximum independence.
Best where grid supply is reasonably reliable and the main goal is reducing daytime electricity purchases. Usually the lowest-cost configuration because battery storage is not required.
Combines solar, grid and compatible battery storage. Suitable when you want bill savings plus backup capability and the option to add or expand batteries.
Uses a larger battery bank and careful load management. Appropriate where outages are frequent or the grid is weak, but battery cost and sizing become a major part of the project.
These bars are a relative planning illustration, not fixed percentages. The real split changes substantially with panel tier, inverter type, structure complexity and battery storage.
Approx. 200 units/day (illustrative) is a planning estimate. Actual production varies from day to day and from one roof to another.
Roof direction and panel tilt influence the amount and timing of solar energy collected.
Cloud cover, seasonal irradiance and high module temperatures change daily generation.
Trees, nearby buildings, parapets and other obstructions can reduce production, particularly when they affect a whole string.
Heavy soiling reduces light reaching the modules. Safe cleaning and periodic inspection help maintain output.
A 50kW system is a commercial-scale installation for a business with substantial daytime consumption. Offices, workshops, schools, warehouses and farms have different load schedules, so the same nominal size can produce very different bill savings. Start with interval consumption or a daytime load survey, then compare a battery-free on-grid design with a separately priced backup option.
A current installed price requires a site survey and a written equipment schedule. Ask suppliers to separate panels, inverter capacity, mounting, electrical protection, cable runs, commissioning and any metering or connection work. Battery storage, roof repairs and supply upgrades should have explicit prices and inclusion statements. An inverter-only rate cannot establish the cost of the complete 50kW project.
With 585W modules, 84 panels provide 49.14kWp and 88 provide 51.48kWp. An illustrative 86-panel layout provides 50.31kWp. With 600W modules, 84 panels provide 50.40kWp. These are DC nameplate calculations, not a validated string plan. Roof dimensions, service walkways, shading and the selected inverter’s voltage and current limits determine the final arrangement.
A design might use one 50kW inverter or split the installation across smaller units with approximately 50kW total AC output. Compare MPPT allocation for differently oriented roofs, cable routing, monitoring and the effect of taking one unit out of service. Multiple units provide design flexibility but also add installation and maintenance points. Specify total AC output separately from the DC array.
At an illustrative five peak-sun-hours and 80% overall energy factor, a nominal 50kWp array produces 200kWh/day: 50 × 5 × 0.8. Over 30 comparable days that is 6,000kWh. This is a sizing example, not a location-specific forecast. A school closed at weekends or a workshop operating only at night may use less of that generation directly than a business with steady daytime demand. Export income must be evaluated using the connection arrangement actually available to the site.
A conventional on-grid installation stops generating during a utility outage. If backup matters, identify essential circuits such as office equipment, lighting or selected controls separately from heavy motors and HVAC. As an energy example, 10kW for two hours requires 20kWh delivered to loads; nominal battery capacity must be larger to allow for permitted discharge and conversion losses. Check battery discharge power and motor-starting demand as well as kWh.
Compare the 30kW package if daytime demand is lower, or the 100kW industrial design for a larger measured load. Choose from the load profile rather than increasing capacity solely because roof space is available.
Get a 50kW Project QuoteThe planning recommendation is: Optional, separately sized and quoted for essential loads. Battery storage should be quoted separately unless the package explicitly states that it is included, because backup duration and battery brand can change the total price significantly.
The reference estimate is Approx. 200 units/day (illustrative), or roughly 6,000–6,000 units in a 30-day month under comparable conditions. Real output depends on location, weather, orientation, shading, temperature and system losses.
Yes. The listed panel quantity is based on approximately 585W modules. A designer can use a different wattage as long as the resulting array voltage, current and total DC power remain within the selected inverter's permitted limits.
No. Site-specific quotation required is an indicative installed planning range. Final pricing should come from a site-specific, itemized quotation showing exact panel, inverter, battery, structure, protection and installation specifications.
