Best suited for

Industrial / institutional. This size is generally selected where the goal is to offset a meaningful share of daytime electricity use while keeping room for future load growth.

What it can support

Industrial, institutional or large commercial project. Actual simultaneous appliance use depends on inverter output, startup current, battery discharge limits and how much solar power is available at that moment.

Important sizing note

System size alone does not determine backup time. Battery capacity controls stored energy, while inverter capacity controls how much load can run at once.

Recommended bill of materials

What Should Be Included in This Package?

Use this checklist when comparing quotations. A complete quote should identify exact brands, models, quantities and warranties rather than only showing one total price.

Solar Panels

168-175 × 585W panels or an equivalent array using another panel wattage. Quote should state brand, exact model, wattage, technology, serial traceability and product/performance warranty.

Solar Inverter

100kW total inverter capacity with the correct AC phase, MPPT voltage/current limits, PV oversizing allowance, monitoring features and warranty. Hybrid systems should also list supported battery communication protocols.

Mounting Structure

Roof- or ground-specific structure with suitable material thickness, secure fixing, correct tilt, drainage clearance, corrosion protection and wind-load consideration.

AC/DC Protection

Correctly rated DC isolators, breakers/fuses, surge protection, AC breakers, distribution boxes, earthing and labels. Protection should be sized for the actual system, not treated as a generic accessory kit.

Solar Cables & Connectors

UV-resistant DC solar cable, suitable AC cable, genuine compatible connectors, conduit/trunking and proper cable sizing based on current, distance and voltage-drop limits.

Battery Storage

Optional, separately sized and quoted for essential loads. If storage is included, the quote should specify chemistry, nominal and usable kWh, continuous current, BMS protocol, cycle warranty and inverter compatibility.

Installation & Commissioning

Mechanical installation, cable routing, terminations, testing, inverter configuration, monitoring app setup, commissioning checks, safety labels and handover documentation.

Warranty & After-Sales Support

Written equipment warranties, installer workmanship warranty, support contact details and a clear process for inverter, panel or battery warranty claims.

Choose the configuration

On-Grid, Hybrid or Battery-Backed?

The same 100kW solar array can be configured differently depending on whether your priority is bill reduction, backup power or maximum independence.

Lowest complexity

On-Grid

Best where grid supply is reasonably reliable and the main goal is reducing daytime electricity purchases. Usually the lowest-cost configuration because battery storage is not required.

  • Lower upfront cost
  • High daytime solar utilization
  • No battery backup during outages unless a separate backup system exists
Backup focused

High-Storage / Off-Grid Style

Uses a larger battery bank and careful load management. Appropriate where outages are frequent or the grid is weak, but battery cost and sizing become a major part of the project.

  • Longer backup potential
  • Requires accurate load and autonomy calculations
  • Highest battery-related cost

What Changes 100kW System Output?

Approx. 400 units/day (illustrative) is a planning estimate. Actual production varies from day to day and from one roof to another.

Orientation & Tilt

Roof direction and panel tilt influence the amount and timing of solar energy collected.

Weather & Season

Cloud cover, seasonal irradiance and high module temperatures change daily generation.

Shading

Trees, nearby buildings, parapets and other obstructions can reduce production, particularly when they affect a whole string.

Dust & Maintenance

Heavy soiling reduces light reaching the modules. Safe cleaning and periodic inspection help maintain output.

Industrial energy planning

100kW Solar System Price in Pakistan: Specify an Industrial Project

A 100kW installation should be treated as an engineered commercial or industrial project rather than a larger household package. Manufacturing sites, institutions and large commercial premises need a design that matches their operating schedule, electrical distribution and available installation area. Review interval demand, shutdown periods and planned equipment additions before committing to the array size.

Request an itemized quotation for a defined design instead of accepting a single unexplained installed rate. The scope should state whether it includes roof reinforcement, long cable routes, distribution-board changes, monitoring, metering or connection work and commissioning. Storage and generator integration should be separately engineered and priced; neither is automatically included in a 100kW solar quote.

100kW Panel Quantity and Actual DC Capacity

Using 585W modules, 168 panels provide 98.28kWp and 175 provide 102.375kWp. A 171-panel example gives 100.035kWp. Using 600W modules, 167 panels provide 100.20kWp. State the resulting DC size on the quotation alongside total inverter AC output. A nominal 100kW package name alone does not identify either the final module count or the permitted inverter oversizing.

Divide the Site Into Electrical and Roof Zones

A project may use one 100kW inverter or multiple units, such as two 50kW inverters, subject to actual equipment suitability and site design. Separate shaded or differently oriented arrays across appropriate MPPT inputs. Evaluate cable distances, access, ventilation, distribution-board capacity and monitoring before choosing the layout. Multiple inverters can allow part of the array to operate while another unit is serviced, but they do not remove a shared grid-outage constraint.

Estimate Energy Against the Operating Schedule

Using five peak-sun-hours and an illustrative 80% overall energy factor, a nominal 100kWp array produces 400kWh/day: 100 × 5 × 0.8. Thirty comparable days give 12,000kWh. Actual yield changes with weather, orientation, temperature, shading, soiling and system availability. Compare a site-specific production estimate with working-day demand and holiday shutdowns; unused midday output is not automatically equivalent to purchased electricity savings.

Outage Resilience and Generator Coordination

A normal grid-tied system cannot supply the premises when the grid is absent. Backup requires a suitable isolated operating arrangement and equipment designed for it. Do not assume the existing generator and a grid-tied inverter can run together without a designed control scheme. Specify which circuits must remain live, their starting loads and the required duration before selecting a hybrid or storage architecture.

For example, keeping a steady 25kW essential load running for two hours requires 50kWh delivered energy. Nominal storage must account for discharge limits and losses, while its continuous power rating must support that load. This example does not cover restarting production machinery or supplying the whole facility.

Procurement, Acceptance and Long-Term Operation

  • Agree the full bill of materials, equipment substitutions and warranty responsibilities before ordering.
  • Require a documented array layout, single-line diagram, cable/protection schedule and structural assessment.
  • Plan safe service access, cleaning arrangements and clear isolation/labeling.
  • Include commissioning test records and monitoring setup in acceptance criteria.
  • Define response times, spare-parts responsibilities and who investigates underperformance.

For a smaller daytime load, compare a 50kW commercial system instead of assuming 100kW is the better purchase. For the equipment portion of a tender, use our inverter price catalog as a component comparison and obtain a separate complete-project quote.

Package questions

100kW Solar System FAQs

The planning recommendation is: Optional, separately sized and quoted for essential loads. Battery storage should be quoted separately unless the package explicitly states that it is included, because backup duration and battery brand can change the total price significantly.

The reference estimate is Approx. 400 units/day (illustrative), or roughly 12,000–12,000 units in a 30-day month under comparable conditions. Real output depends on location, weather, orientation, shading, temperature and system losses.

Yes. The listed panel quantity is based on approximately 585W modules. A designer can use a different wattage as long as the resulting array voltage, current and total DC power remain within the selected inverter's permitted limits.

No. Site-specific quotation required is an indicative installed planning range. Final pricing should come from a site-specific, itemized quotation showing exact panel, inverter, battery, structure, protection and installation specifications.
